Description:While he was alive Zhu Ge Liang 诸葛亮 was always seen with a fan made of feathers in one hand, gently fanning himself. How that fan morphed into a fire-breathing weapon, I have no idea. The logic of how this weapon came to be in the card game is the appearance of RATTAN ARMOUR 藤甲 in the Battle Expansion Pack. The FEATHERED FAN is a weapon addition that comes with the Pack as a balancing factor, dealing massive damage for players that equip RATTAN ARMOUR. Still, this is one of those cards that did not go down well with me due to its loose link with the storyline (and common logic!).

You can choose to add fire attribute damage to a normal ATTACK 杀 card that you use.

Ironically, Younger Zhu Ge Liang 卧龙诸葛亮 will probably find this weapon the least useful. This weapon allows the character to deal fire damage, but Younger Zhu Ge Liang can already use BLAZE 火攻 readily. He does not need this weapon to flame his opponents. The thing about this weapon is that it was generated not to fit characters, but to specifically counter RATTAN ARMOUR. Therefore it is equally useful for most characters.
In Dynasty Warriors, Zhuge Liang's special power was firing a slew of fireballs at the enemy.
ReplyDeleteSo, it just alters the normal attack card into a fire attack card, and not adding an additional fire dmg?
ReplyDeleteIt turns all attacks into fire attack. That's all it does.
ReplyDeleteI thought the attacker gets to choose whether or not to add fire attribute to the attack.
ReplyDelete@Rawroo: Yes you are right. My apologies if I gave the wrong impression. The attacker has a choice, whether to add fire damage or not.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it's for all attacks? on the card it states it's only for NORMAL ATTACKS "基本", therefore you can't change lightning attacks into fire attacks.

ReplyDeleteYup, it's for normal attacks only. It shouldn't work on lightning attacks.

ReplyDeleteSo, what if the player is in a duel with someone else. If the play with the Fan wins the duel, could they make the damage Fire-Element based? (assuming they played a Normal attack and not a lightning one.)
ReplyDeleteNo, as the damage is caused by the DUEL and not the ATTACK card.
ReplyDeletewhen this card changes from a normal attack into a fire attack does the suit become red as well? meaning it can go through red wang shield if the normal attack was originally a black suited card?
ReplyDeleteThe colour of the ATTACK card does not change. It just gets the fire attribute added to it.
ReplyDeleteCan a player decide whether to utilize the weapon ability (add fire attribute) after the Sha has been discarded into the discard pile? Or must the player specifically state that he wants to add fire attribute before the card reach the discard pile.
ReplyDeleteDepending on your house rules, there are no official rules on it.
DeleteThe ability of FEATHERED FAN is optional, and you have to decide whether to activate it when the ATTACK is used and its target is picked.
Delete^specify first if not you are playing a normal Attack card.
