Tài Shǐ Cí 太史慈

Posted by Ricky Chua On 1:59 PM 8 comments
Translated description:
"Ardent and Loyal Warrior 笃烈之士 (dǔ liè zhī shì)"

Wikipedia link: Tai Shi Ci Wiki

Who is he:
One of the early generals before the Three Kingdoms were formed, Tai Shi Ci was one of Sun Ce 孙策's most capable generals. A man with a criminal past, Tai Shi Ci was denied higher positions and responsibilities by his previous leader Liu Yao 刘繇. In one instance, Tai Shi Ci battled Sun Ce and were equally matched. This gave Sun Ce respect for Tai Shi Ci. When Sun Ce eventually defeated Liu Yao, Sun Ce promised Tai Shi Ci acknowledgement of his capabilities with important positions. Tai Shi Ci accepted and thus became a loyal and capable general under the Kingdom of Sun Wu 孙吴 till his death.

Character ability: "Justice of Heaven 天义 (tiān yì)"
During your action phase, you can conduct Points Duel 拼点 with any other character. Limited to one use per turn.

If you win the Points Duel -
1. You will have unlimited attacking range
2. You can use 1 additional ATTACK 杀 card in that turn
3. Each ATTACK can target 1 additional character.

If you lose the Points Duel, you cannot use ATTACK till the end of that turn.

Ability's relation to story:
There does not seem to be much relation to the story, though there is some history to how this ability came about. Before the Fire Expansion Pack 火包 was released by Yoka Games, people have already created their own Tai Shi Ci character which allowed him to equip two weapons simultaneously. I guess Yoka Games took note of that and modified it into the ability we see today.

Additional info based on story:
1. Most famous achievement - Rallying his troops to join Sun Ce within 24 hours. When Tai Shi Ci agreed to join Sun Ce, he asked Sun Ce for one day's absence to convince his troops to continue joining him under Sun Ce's leadership. Sun Ce note only agreed, he even told Tai Shi Ci to tell his troops that those not willing were free to leave and will not be subjected to martial law. Sun Ce's advisors told him to be wary of Tai Shi Ci taking the opportunity to escape, but Sun Ce had faith in Tai Shi Ci's integrity. Indeed, Tai Shi Ci kept to his word, returning within 24 hours and bringing with him every single one of his men to join Sun Ce.

2. Cause of death - In the story, Tai Shi Ci was fatally wounded by an arrow from Cao Wei 曹魏's Zhang Liao 张辽 at the battle of He Fei 合肥之战. However, historically Tai Shi Ci died of illness at age 41.

FAQ and Disambiguation

1. What do you mean by Points Duel 拼点?

Ans: You can refer to ''How to play'' Part 5 Points Duel'' on the left column for more details.

2. For Points Duel, if Tai Shi Chi wins, does he get all the 3 effects or just one of them ?

Ans: He gets all 3 effects .

3. If Tai Shi Chi has Heaven Scorcher Halbert equipped and he wins the points duel , does that mean his last ATTACK can kill up to 5 people? 3 from weapon , 3 from his ability?

Ans: Not 5 but 4. Here's how its calculated.

After winning points duel, every one of his ATTACK can target 1 additional player. Therefore if his ATTACK is his last card and he has Heaven Scorcher, usually he can target 3 players but now +1 more player to that ..so total 4 players can be targeted with that one last ATTACK card.

4. Can he attack then point want? Because that would allow him to bypass the effect of '' Cannot use attack at all for that turn''.

Ans: Yes he can use ATTACK first before Points Duel. It would allow him to use at least 1 attack in that round. BUT that first attack would just be a normal attack , targeting only 1 player.

In Summary,

Use Attack before Points Duel
Pros: Guaranteed at least 1 attack use
Cons: Effective attacks used is limited to 3.

Use Points Duel before Attack
Pros: Effective attacks used =4
Cons: May not be able to use attack at all if lose the points duel.

5. Can Tai Shi Chi use jiu sha( attack + wine ) after winning the points duel to cause 2 damage to 2 different players or can this only be used without wine ?

Ans: Yes ,wine can be use with the attacks even after winning the points duel.

6. Does his ability stack with the effect of weapons ? For example , if Tai Shi Ci equips a Zhu Ge Crossbow , does that mean he has unlimited numbers of  attacks , each attacking 2 players.

Demi-God Zhōu Yú 神周瑜

Posted by Ricky Chua On 11:05 PM 20 comments
Translated description:
"The God of Fire at Red Cliffs 赤壁的火神 (chì bì dè huǒ shén)"

Why is he a Demi-God:
People familiar with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms story would know that Zhu Ge Liang 诸葛亮 and Zhou Yu were both instrumental in defeating Cao Cao 曹操 at the Red Cliffs. However the historians that distilled out the "Romance" from the story found that Zhou Yu was the main architect of the victory, while Zhu Ge Liang had far less involvement. Even then, we can already tell in the story that Zhou Yu did a lot of the dirty work in putting the pieces together. These include:

1. Setting up Pang Tong 庞统 to deceive Cao Cao into shackling his ships together.

2. Sending Huang Gai 黄盖 to feint defection in order to set start the fire.

3. Planning for the cut off of Cao Cao's retreat.

Ultimately, Zhou Yu deserves the credit for destroying Cao Cao's entire army and that is why Zhou Yu deserves to be immortalized as a Demi-God!

Character ability 1: "The Sound of Music 琴音 (qín yīn)"
During your discard phase, when you discard 2 or more on-hand cards, you can choose to force all players (including yourself) to regain 1 unit of health or lose 1 unit of health.

Character ability 2: [Single-Use ability] "Searing Heat 业炎 (yè yán)"
During your action phase, you can select 1 to 3 players and distribute a total of 3 units of fire attribute damage between them. If you allocate 2 units or more of damage to any of the players, you need to discard 1 card of each suit (4 cards in total) and lose 3 units of health.

Ability's relation to story:
Although Zhou Yu is known for his superb skills with the Qin instrument, there does not seem to be any mention of him playing the Qin during the Red Cliffs episode. Thus I believe "The Sound of Music" is just loosely based on his ability to play. "Searing Heat" probably just refers to his fiery achievement in defeating Cao Cao, but there is no reference for his sacrificing his health in the story at this period of time. Therefore this is probably also loosely-based on the story.

Demi-God Zhū Gě Liàng 神诸葛亮

Translated description:
"The Sorcerer at the Red Cliffs 赤壁的妖术师 (chì bì dè yāo shù shī)"

Why is he a Demi-God:
In an act of mischief, Zhu Ge Liang decides to fool Zhou Yu 周瑜 into thinking he has the ability to control the weather. At an elaborately set up altar, Zhu Ge Liang performs a mysterious rite that he says will help change the wind direction, which was necessary in order for their fire strategy to work against the ships of Cao Cao 曹操. True enough, by that night the wind directions turn 180 degrees, finally putting in place the final gear in the machine that would be Cao Cao's terrible defeat. Everyone is fooled by Zhu Ge Liang, who absolutely cannot control the weather at all. He simply knew how to read the stars to foretell the weather. Easy peasy! All those meteorologists with their high-tech doppler radars should be ashamed of themselves!

Character ability 1: "The Seven Stars 七星 (qī xīng)"
At the very beginning of the game, when the initial 4 cards are being distributed amongst all players, you will be given a total of 11 cards. Pick 4 out of these 11 to be your starting hand, while the remaining cards are placed face down elsewhere (out of the game area). These extra cards will be referred to as "Stars". During your turn, right after the drawing phase, you can interchange any number of your on-hand cards with an identical number of your Stars.

Character ability 2: "Strong Gale 狂风 (kuáng fēng)"
At the end of your turn, you can discard 1 of your "Stars" and select 1 target player. From then till your next turn, this target player will suffer 1 additional unit of damage for all fire attribute damage.

Character ability 3: "Heavy Shroud 大雾 (dà wù)"
At the end of your turn, you can discard X number of "Stars" and select X number of target players. From then till your next turn, these target players will be protected from all damage except Lightning attribute damage.

Ability's relation to story:
Since Zhu Ge Liang knew how to read the stars to foretell weather, it is only natural that "The Seven Stars" is intricately linked to the story, specifically to the battle at Red Cliffs. What's more impressive is the game maker's use of weather elements in his other abilities "Strong Gale" and "Heavy Shroud". We already know that a gale was necessary for the fire to spread towards Cao Cao's army, and the deeper reference to fire attributed damage is well-appreciated.

"Heavy Shroud" is not part of his hocus-pocus ritual, but it still is related to the Red Cliffs battle. Prior to the main battle, Zhu Ge Liang used boats of straw to "harvest" 100,000 arrows for Zhou Yu. The shroud of haze was also fore-told in the stars and he used that to his advantage, deceiving the enemy into shooting at figurines of straw in the poor visibility.

Yán Liáng & Wén Chǒu 颜良文丑

Translated description:
"Tiger & Wolf Brothers 虎狼兄弟 (hǔ láng xiōng dì)"

Wikipedia link: Yan Liang & Wen Chou Wiki

Who are they:
The top 2 military generals under Yuan Shao 袁绍, Yan Liang and Wen Chou were good friends and were said to be equal in combat skills. The story did not give them much air time, but enough mention was made to highlight their ability. Under the early coalition led by Yuan Shao, a formidable opponent called Hua Xiong 华雄 challenged the coalition and killed many generals. Yuan Shao lamented that both Yan Liang and Wen Chou were not around, else they would surely destroy Hua Xiong easily. Later parts of the story did not mention both Yan Liang and Wen Chou together in combat, but these two are typically associated. It does seem like their capabilities were over-promised as both fell victim to Guan Yu 关羽.

Character ability: "Dual Heroes 双雄 (shuāng xióng)"
During the drawing phase, you can choose to forfeit the drawing phase and opt for a judgement card to be flipped. Unlike usual judgement cards, this particular judgement card can be kept into your hand. Note the colour of the suit (black or red) of this judgement card. For the rest of your action phase, you can choose to use any on-hand card with a different colour from this judgement card as DUEL 决斗.

Ability's relation to story:
Very little relation can be drawn from the story linking DUEL to these two characters. All that is known is that both of them are commonly referred together as a pair, thus the name "Dual Heroes".

Additional info based on story:
1. Most famous achievement - Neither of them had much notable achievement, except their leader Yuan Shao's praise for them.

2. Cause of death - Both were killed by Guan Yu in battle. Yan Liang had his head severed by Guan Yu and brought back to Cao Cao 曹操 during the battle at Bai Ma 白马之战. Guan Yu was virtually unopposed as he charged straight towards Yan Liang. With one blow he struck down Yan Liang, then severed his head and brought it back by tying it around his horses neck. Wen Chou was killed in a subsequent battle. His troops fell into disorder after Cao Cao cunningly left numerous horses for Wen Chou's troops to plunder. Cao Cao's generals attacked in the midst of the disorder and Wen Chou was forced to flee. However, Guan Yu was waiting at his retreat route and they fought a few bouts. Wen Chou retreatedly hastily, but Guan Yu was riding the Red Hare 赤兔 of Lu Bu 吕布, whose speed allowed him to catch up to Wen Chou and slay him from behind.

FAQ and Disambiguation

1.Will Duel(black card) work on Jia Xu?

Ans:No.Once Duel heroes is used,YL&WC can choose to use on-hand cards as DUEL is a tool card, regardless of what the actual is.(For example:You use a black ATTACK card as DUEL.It is no longer seen as a basic card, but instead is now a tool card.) Therefore Jia Xu will still not be affected.

2.Does the player gets to literally keep the judgement card or he just keeps it to create duels, then after it's discarded?

Ans: The player literally gets to keep the card.
For instance, if the judgement card was a PEACH, he gets to keep the PEACH card, and he can
choose to use that PEACH card in his turn.
In short, his card intake for that round will be 1(instead of the usual 2), and that 1 card is the judgement
        card.

Páng Dé 庞德

Translated description:
"Ride and Rider as One 人马一体 (rén mǎ yì tǐ)"

Wikipedia link: Pang De Wiki

Who is he:
The rider on a white horse, Pang De is a very capable military general that served under Ma Chao 马超 and his father, Ma Teng 马腾. After the death of Ma Teng, Pang De and Ma Chao resisted the attacks of Cao Cao 曹操 but were unable to hold on to their city of Han Zhong 汉中. Ma Chao fled to join Liu Bei 刘备 in Shu Han 蜀汉 while Pang De surrendered to Cao Wei 曹魏. Cao Cao thought highly of Pang De and gave him a high position in the military. However at the battle of Fan Cheng 樊城之战, Pang De's loyalty came into question. This was because his old partner Ma Chao and his elder brother were aiding the enemy in that very siege. To prove his loyalty, Pang De kow-towed to Cao Cao till his head bled and brought along his own coffin into battle to prove that he would rather die than return defeated. Pang De did not succeed and was executed by Guan Yu 关羽.

Character ability 1: [Enforced ability] "Horsemanship 马术 (mǎ shù)"
You will always have a -1 distance advantage (default "-1 horse" equipped).

Character ability 2: "Fearsome Advance 猛进 (měng jìn)"
Whenever your ATTACK 杀 is evaded by DODGE 闪, you can discard one of your opponent's cards (on-hand or equipped).

Note that Pang De selects the card for discarding and not the opponent.

Ability's relation to story:
Pang De has always been known for his superb horsemanship and is even nicknamed the White Horse General for his white steed. Therefore "Horsemanship" is no surprise. "Fearsome Advance" on the other hand, does not seem to have any appreciable link to the story.

Additional info based on story:
1. Most famous achievement - Carrying his coffin into battle. The coffin is intended to send a message to Cao Cao that either Guan Yu or himself will be in the coffin by the end of the battle. This establishes his determination and loyalty to Cao Wei. It is also awesome fodder for a dramatized story.

2. Cause of death - Pang De was eventually caught by Guan Yu when Fan Cheng became flooded due to the torrential rains. Pang De refused to kneel to Guan Yu or surrender. Guan Yu had no alternative but to execute him.

FAQ and Disambiguation

1. If Pang De attacks Zhao Yun and an "attack" is used to "dodge", does his ability still activate?

Ans:Yes it does.

2.Does Pang De gets to pick up a card from the deck if the target Pang De attacks has only one dodge on his hand?

Ans: No.Pang De cannot draw a card from the deck using his ability. It should never happen.

If the victim has no more cards onhand but have cards equipped, the equipped cards can be dismantled too. If the victim has no cards left whatsoever, then Pang De will not get to use his ability.

3.If Pang De attacks a character that has Eight Trigrams armor equipped, and the character successfully judges an auto-dodge,can Pang De then use his ability to destroy that armor?

Ans:Yes, he can.

Yuán Shào 袁绍

"Aristocratic Ancestry 高贵的名门 (gāo guì dè míng mén)"

Wikipedia link: Yuan Shao Wiki

Who is he:
At one point of time he became the most powerful warlord in all of China, thanks to a coalition of numerous warlords in an effort to overthrow the tyrannical Dong Zhuo 董卓. He was the most powerful because he was nominated to lead the entire coalition, akin to the modern day Secretary-General of the United Nations, thanks to his noble ancestry. His great-grandfather was an interior minister that served directly under the Emperor. However Yuan Shao's power was short-lived, as he very quickly lost the respect of the other warlords in the coalition. He became known as an incompetent leader that made poor use of his resources and was too indecisive to be effective. The coalition fell apart and Yuan Shao turned back to being warlord of the northern territories. He did not last very long as Cao Cao 曹操 sought to eliminate him and bring the entire northern China under his rule.

Character ability 1: "Chaos Strike 乱击 (luàn jī)"
During your action phase, you can choose to discard any 2 on-hand cards with the same suit as RAINING ARROWS 万箭齐发.

Character ability 2: [Ruler ability] [Enforced ability] "Bloodline 血裔 (xuè yì)"
Your limit for on-hand cards at the end of your turn increases by 2 for every one Heroes 群雄 character (other than yourself) still in play.

Ability's relation to story:
Yuan Shao's use of arrows is already mentioned in my post on RAINING ARROWS 万箭齐发. As for "Bloodline", it has already been mentioned that Yuan Shao is descended from a high-ranking official. The game makers are simply borrowing that link to label this ability.

Additional info based on story:
1. Most famous achievement - Leading the coalition of forces against Dong Zhuo. There were at least 10 different warlords in the coalition with troops numbering half a million or more. Even before Dong Zhuo took the Emperor hostage, Yuan Shao was adamant in killing off the corrupt officials that caused the decay of the dynasty. In a way, Yuan Shao is not a bad guy: he just does not make a very effective leader.

2. Cause of death - Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao at the battle of Guan Du 官渡之战, which became highlighted as a prime show of Cao Cao's superior strategy and tactics. Yuan Shao had a force many times larger than Cao Cao, but yet he suffered a terrible loss. Cao Cao analyzed Yuan Shao as being unwilling to listen to his advisors, stubborn, and tolerating general disunity under his rule. Yuan Shao did not die in battle, but he did not live long after either. As a show of respect for his former friend, Cao Cao paid his respects at Yuan Shao's tomb later on.

FAQ and Disambiguation

1.Can the ruler character card(i.e.yuan shao, liu bei,cao cao etc)use their ruler ability in game even though their role is not ruler?(i.e.they are rebel/loyalist/villian)

Ans:No they cannot.Ruler ability only applies when their role is Ruler.

Who is he:
Together with Guo Jia 郭嘉, Xun Yu was one of Cao Cao 曹操's most trusted advisors. In fact it was Xun Yu who introduced Guo Jia into Cao Cao's service, together with a host of other high-calibre individuals such as Xun You 荀攸 and Si Ma Yi 司马懿. In one of the most controversial moves of the era, Cao Cao's escortation of the emperor, resulting in Cao Cao wielding immense political power, was suggested by Xun Yu. However Xun Yu's heart was always for the protection of the Han Dynasty 汉朝. When Cao Cao ultimately intended to abolish the Han Dynasty and establish the kingdom of Cao Wei 曹魏, Xun Yu opposed through oblique statements. This did not sit well with Cao Cao, and thus Xun Yu fell out of favour. He died soon after.

Diǎn Wěi 典韦

Translated description:
"The E-Lai of ancient times 古之恶来 (gǔ zhī è lái)"

This requires a little explanation. "E Lai 恶来" was a stout hero in ancient times (yes even more ancient than the Three Kingdoms) who was so freaking strong he could tear up a tiger with his bare hands. E Lai served King Zhou 纣王 in the Shang Dynasty 商朝. The Shang Dynasty dates back more than 1000 years before the Three Kingdoms era (BC 1600 - 1000 approx).

Wikipedia link: Dian Wei Wiki

Who is he:
The incredible Hulk of ancient China. Dian Wei was reputed to have superhuman strength and was Cao Cao 曹操's trusted bodyguard. Sadly, though, most people who know the story would remember Dian Wei for his premature death. While alive, he was extremely loyal to Cao Cao and was always seen by Cao Cao's side. He uses a unique pair of Halberds that weighs 20kg each (yeah right!!!) that is never again mentioned in the story after his death. Even in death, Dian Wei still got airtime in the story because every time Cao Cao passed nearby Dian Wei's tomb, he would pay a visit and weep for the loss of his bodyguard.

Younger Zhū Gě Liàng 卧龙诸葛亮

Posted by Ricky Chua On 1:53 PM 10 comments
Translated description:
"Hidden dragon 卧龙 (wò lóng)"

Wikipedia link: Zhu Ge Liang Wiki

Who is he:
The second of three versions of Zhu Ge Liang in the card game, Younger Zhu Ge Liang depicts the ridiculously omniscient Zhu Ge Liang in the early days of his career with Liu Bei 刘备. Not to say that his "powers" got any weaker with age, but it does seem like the writer of Romance of Three Kingdoms (Luo Guan Zhong 罗贯中) intended for Zhu Ge Liang to appear with a bang. This was the Zhu Ge Liang that literally frustrated Zhou Yu 周瑜 to death. However since a lot of the background on Zhu Ge Liang will be repeated in all three versions of the character, I'll take the opportunity to talk about his days just prior to joining Liu Bei.

Character ability 1: "Eight Trigrams Formation 八阵 (bā zhèn)" [Enforced ability]
When no armour is equipped, you will always have the protection of the EIGHT TRIGRAMS 八卦阵 armour by default.

Character ability 2: "Arson 火计 (huǒ jì)"
All your on-hand cards with a red suit ("hearts" or "diamonds") can be used as BLAZE 火攻 during your action phase.

Character ability 3: "Scient 看破 (kàn pò)"
All your on-hand cards with a black suit ("clubs" or "spades") can be used as NEGATE 无懈可击.

Ability's relation to story:
Zhu Ge Liang actively trained the troops of Shu Han 蜀汉 during lull periods. His mastery of military formations gained the respect of many of his adversaries, not least Si Ma Yi 司马懿 in the later years. The Eight Trigrams Formation is one of the most famous that Zhu Ge Liang used very well.

Arson was used by him from the very first battle he oversaw, which resulted in huge losses for the enemy. Later, both him and Zhou Yu came up with the same idea to use fire against Cao Cao 曹操 at the battle at Red Cliffs 赤壁之战.

Of course, Zhu Ge Liang was depicted as so god-damned smart that every teeny weeny little action of his enemies, he understood their intent. His 3rd ability "Scient" plays on the fact that no tool or ploy works on him, since he can see through it all instantly. Smart ass.

Matching weapon: "Feathered Fan 朱雀羽扇 (zhū què yǔ shàn)"
Though the feathered fan is Zhu Ge Liang's prized item in the story, the weapon in this game is not a perfect match for his abilities. Feathered Fan brings the same advantage to any other player anyways. Besides, with half the entire deck being of red-suited cards, Younger Zhu Ge Liang has more than enough fire attribute offensives as it is!

Additional info based on story:
1. Most famous achievement - In his younger days, before joining Liu Bei, Zhu Ge Liang was sort of a guru in his hometown. The story depicts the countryside where Zhu Ge Liang lived to be similar to Barney-the-purple-dinosaur land; everyone smiling and singing happily. Though no direct link is made between their state-of-mind and Zhu Ge Liang's presence there, nonetheless it makes for more interesting story-telling to believe that was the case. He would have chosen to stay as a happy farmer for the rest of his life had Liu Bei not paid him repeated visits.

2. Cause of death - Same as the write-up for Elder Zhu Ge Liang 暮年诸葛亮. (How many different causes of death could there be for one person?!)

FAQ and Disambiguation:

1. Does his default Eight Trigrams work against the Blue Steel Blade?

Ans: No it does not.Blue Steel Blade overrides all armor including his default Eight Trigrams.

Páng Tǒng 庞统

Posted by Ricky Chua On 5:40 PM 24 comments
Translated description:
"Rising Phoenix 凤雏 (fèng chú)"

Wikipedia Link: Pang Tong Wiki

Who is he:
The second smartest person of the era, but also probably the ugliest in looks. Pang Tong is supposedly Zhu Ge Liang 诸葛亮's equal in the brains department. Where Zhu Ge Liang is given the nickname "Hidden Dragon 卧龙 (wo long)", Pang Tong is given the nickname "Rising Phoenix 凤雏 (feng chu)". However his hideous looks made some doubt his ability, such as Sun Quan 孙权. Pang Tong is credited as the critical link behind Cao Cao 曹操's spectacular defeat at battle of Red Cliffs 赤壁之战, but he did not live very long to share his talents. Imagine how the world would have been different had Pang Tong lived a decade longer, where both he and Zhu Ge Liang were helping Liu Bei 刘备.

Character ability 1: "Shackle 连环 (lián huán)"
Every on-hand card that has the suit of "clubs" can be used as IRON SHACKLES 铁索连环.

(This also means that card, regardless of its original function, can perform RE-DRAW 重铸, ie: discarded and replaced with a new card from the deck).

Character ability 2: "Nirvana 涅盘 (niè pán)" [Single-use ability]
When you are on the brink of death, you can choose to discard all your cards (both on-hand and equipped) and resurrect yourself. You will have 3 units of health after resurrection and can immediately draw 3 cards from the deck.

(This ability can only be used once. A symbol or marking (unspecified in the instructions) should be used to inform all players that "Nirvana" has already been used once.)

Ability's relation to story:
"Shackles" is a perfect match for Pang Tong since he practically masterminded the shackling of Cao Cao's ships at the battle of Red Cliffs. The shackles turned out to be the key reason for the blaze which wiped out Cao Cao's troops. You can read more about this incident in my write-up on IRON SHACKLES.

"Nirvana" is an interesting ability. Players have commented that the game makers are making up for Pang Tong's early death by allowing him to resurrect in the card game. Then again, a lot of other characters died early but the game makers never gave them resurrection abilities. I mean look at Guo Jia 郭嘉, he was an exceptional advisor and died young. No second-life for him in this game!

Additional info based on story:
1. Most famous achievement - Tricking Cao Cao into shackling all his ships together prior to the battle of Red Cliffs, such that when Zhou Yu 周瑜 set the ships ablaze, there was no escape! Pang Tong is also credited as the main motivator behind Liu Bei's occupation of the west, which became the stronghold for Shu Han 蜀汉.

2. Cause of death - Pang Tong was ambushed by arrows as he led troops to attack Luo Cheng 罗城. Liu Bei decided to send Pang Tong by the shortcut, where ambushes were to be expected, even though Liu Bei himself was the combat personnel and Pang Tong was an advisor. The location of Pang Tong's death is called Luo Feng Po 落凤坡, which translates to Valley of the fallen phoenix. How apt.

FAQ and Disambiguation

1. If Pang Tong is the Ruler, does he get reincarnated with 4 health units or just 3?

Ans: After reincarnation , he gets only 3 units health. But as a ruler, his max health is still 4 units. Therefore he can use one PEACH card to increase to 4 units of health.

2. Does Pang Tong gets to pick a new character for his second life?

Ans: No. You must still remain as Pang Tong.
